Graycliff Receives Grant of $325,000 from the John R. Oishei Foundation

The Graycliff Conservancy, Inc. is proud to announce receipt of a very generous grant in the amount of $325,000 from the John R. Oishei Foundation. The funds will be used to further the restoration of the Graycliff Estate, designed by noted American architect Frank Lloyd Wright.
Diane Chrisman, President of the Graycliff Conservancy, Inc. said: “We are very grateful to the John R. Oishei Foundation for its continuing support of Graycliff’s restoration. The many volunteers and members of Graycliff consider it a vote of confidence in the Conservancy’s efforts, and in the recognition of the Graycliff Estate as an important architectural landmark in Western New York.”
The John R. Oishei Foundation’s mission is to enhance the quality of life for Buffalo area residents by supporting education, healthcare, scientific research, and the cultural, social, civic and other charitable needs of the community. The Foundation was established in 1940 by John R. Oishei, founder of Trico Products Corporation.
The Graycliff Conservancy will use the John R Oishei Foundation funding to continue work on Phase IIIB of the restoration of the Graycliff Estate. The Graycliff Estate, located in Derby, NY (about 20 minutes south of downtown Buffalo) is an important example of Frank Lloyd Wright’s “Organic” or “Natural” style of architecture.
Funds received from the John R. Oishei Foundation will be used to continue work on Phase IIIB of restoration.
